TRACY COOPER
Tracy rapelling down the Verdon Gorge

I am a professionally qualified Chartered Psychologist, Board Certified Coach and Counsellor and have worked in various disciplines of Psychology for the last 20 years. My PhD is in Cognitive Neuroscience, looking at the effects of heavy alcohol use on the electrical activity of the frontal lobes. My post-doctoral research was on implicit memory in stroke patients. Over the years my roles have included clinical placements as an Assistant Psychologist, lecturing to undergraduates in Psychology, running research projects in universities, and as a therapist in private practice.

As an Executive Coach I engage with all levels from CEO, Directors, Leadership Teams, senior managers, and high potential managers identified as talent by the organisation.

Tracy Climbing in the Verdon GorgeIn accordance with the ethical guidelines for the Association for Coaching, I have regular supervision sessions for my coaching. I have my own coach based in the USA, a Master Certified Coach who is one of the founders of the International Coach Federation. Each year I attend several coaching workshops, masterclasses and conferences. I read widely on coaching and the current research. These aspects inform my coaching practice, help me develop and grow, and give a healthy balance between theory and practice. I am committed to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.

Before I became involved in the field of Psychology, I worked in a corporate setting, with IBM at their Head Office in Portsmouth, UK. I was a sponsored student and spent five years in Finance and Business Administration.

I’m passionate about rock climbing, and love the way it continually takes me outside my comfort zone. I’m married to Chuck and we divide our time between the UK and Avignon in the south of France, along with our passport-carrying dogs and cats. I enjoy being in the great outdoors and have been a keen hill runner for over 20 years. These days I run and mountain bike on the trails of the Vaucluse. I practice mindfulness meditation and yoga to help me relax and keep me grounded. I love to travel, and experience different cultures and enjoy meeting all kinds of new people.
